Being Green
At Boxt we care about the future of our planet and will continue to find ways to encourage eco-friendly values in our staff, systems and product. Below are the ways we are ‘being green’ today.

Over 100% of our electricity is supplied using “Green Power”. This means that we will offset 16.09 Tonnes of C02 each year which equates to powering 12.00 houses for a month and removing 45.10 cars from our roads. For more information about converting your business to Green Power visit www.greenpower.gov.au
Packaging
All our gift boxes are made from 100% recycled materials
Fillers
Some of our gifts include ‘shredded paper’ or ‘wood wool’ to enhance the presentation of the gifts.
We source the shredded paper from ‘Interwork Ltd’. Interwork is a specialist disability employment agency, providing employment programmes, services and support to people who experience disability, long-term injury or other life disadvantages. Shredding used printing paper for sale as packaging material is one way that employees earn at income at the organization. For further information about ‘Interwork’ visit www.interwork.com.au.
Our wood wool is Radiata Pine. It is purpose grown in Victoria. The mature trees are felled and air-dried, debarked and processed in to the wood wool without the use of any chemicals.
Recycling Information Cards
To encourage the recipients of Boxt gifts to recycle their packaging we include a ‘how to’ information card in each gift which lists great ideas for putting your gift box to good use once it is emptied. So once the box is emptied they have a useful item that can be used for many years to come!
In House Recycling
We endeavor to make ‘recycling’ part of the Boxt psyche by providing simple things such as recycling bins for everyday rubbish and paper trays specifically for reusable printing paper. As a team we continue to look for ways we can recycle more effectively.
Cardboard Boxes As you can image we go through a lot of cardboard boxes here at Boxt. We are pleased to say that all of these boxes are taken to our local recycling facility. For further information about a recycling plant in your area contact your local council.
Donation of Reusable Materials – REmida
As a creative hamper company we are left with lots of interesting bits and pieces that are fantastic for use in different arts and crafts projects. We are extremely pleased to be able to donate a large portion of these materials to REmida, a creative reuse centre offering a myriad of materials for creative and educational projects.
